Whittingham pupils celebrate Northumberland Day
Whittingham C of E Primary School pupils have been celebrating all things Northumbrian.
Headteacher Belinda Athey wanted everyone to have a muckle bari time at a series of events to mark Northumberland Day.The children learnt to dance to the Northumbrian beat; pupils and staff went to school dressed in the colours of the Northumbrian flag; nursery and reception class made their own flag decorations; Years 1 and 2 made matchbox memory boxes; Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 worked with Sally Brewis and volunteers from Baliffgate Museum on dialect; and school cook Mary Arkle served up Northumbrian specialities.
