Discussions to start on coastal-path changes
The work will form part of the England Coast Path – a new national trail and continuous path around the English coast.
Over the coming months Natural England will be holding discussions with national and local organisations, as well as interested individuals, to get their ideas and concerns about current access along the stretch in Northumberland.

Hide AdThe body will also be assessing the problems, opportunities and constraints for improving access along this stretch of coast, as well as seeking to identify owners and occupiers of land that might be affected.
Natural England will invite landowners to walk the course and there will be a chance to comment on the proposals at a later date.
Officers from the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership will be providing advice to Natural England throughout the development of the route. If all goes to plan, the new access is expected to be ready in 2019.
The England Coast Path will, for the first time, give people right of access around all of the country’s open coast. Natural England expects to complete the work in 2020.
