Lifeboat called out to pair walking dog along Holy Island Causeway
The call was made at 10.28am on Tuesday, January 8 to the Seahouses RNLI Lifeboat Station as a precautionary measure after the walkers were spotted. High Water at Holy Island was at 12.21pm.
A Coastguard team from Holy Island was also alerted. As the lifeboat approached the island, the Coastguard teams reported that the walkers were safely ashore on the island. The teams were then stood down after what was their first call of 2020.

Hide AdThe RNLI urges people using both the causeway and the Pilgrims Way foot crossing, to check safe crossing times before setting off to and from the island.
It takes about two hours to walk to the Island from the Causeway. The Pilgrims’ route is about three miles long.
