Longhoughton Parish Council round-up
Residents will be asked if they are in favour of a 20mph limit through the centre of the village.
There will be a supplementary question to gauge people’s opinion about removing the central white line and creating advisory cycle lanes to complement the speed reduction, as pictured above.

Hide AdThe scheme is the brainchild of the area’s county councillor Kate Cairns.
The letters were due to be posted at the end of last week and the return date for consultation is Friday, March 24.
○ Concerns have been raised about the amount of dog mess which is being left around Longhoughton. People are urged to contact the county council if they see irresponsible owners not picking up after their pets.
○ Coun Carol Green spoke about ‘two particularly bad potholes’ on the road from Longhoughton to Denwick. She said that one of them is ‘more like a sinkhole and will damage someone’s vehicle’. She will report the issue to the county council.

Hide Ad○ The parish council has agreed to spend £1,000 – spread over two years – to help a project to create an additional six spaces at Boulmer car park. The scheme will also aim to repair several big potholes at the well-used facility.
