An Amble Coastguard spokesman said: “We were tasked along with our neighbouring team from Howick to assist North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) with the extraction of a casualty who had suffered a seizure whilst on the beach on the south side of the River Aln.”
“Both teams were stood down prior to arrival on scene as the ambulance crew were able to extract the casualty without further emergency services assistance.”
