Giant sand art sculpture on Northumberland beach helps spread RNLI safety message
and live on Freeview channel 276
Seahouses RNLI water safety volunteers Lynsey Carr and Iain Saunders, working with Cloud Dancer Photography, created the artwork over the bank holiday weekend.
It displayed the RNLI’s Respect the Water logo and the safety message of float to live.

Hide AdLifeboat crew also engaged with the public to promote their safety message and distribute safety material as part of the Mayday Safety Campaign.
Lynsey said: “We had a great day with a high level of (socially distanced) interaction with the public on the beach at Beadnell, and hope we were able to spread a basic yet effective safety message.”
Ian Clayton, lifeboat operations manager, added: “The team did a great job and I was stunned by the quality of the sand image – it was a real work of art. Sadly the rising tide would erase it from the beach after the event.”
