Santa set for rare springtime appearance as residents urged to contribute to Alnwick Round Table charity collection

It is asking residents of Alnwick, Felton, West Thirston and Newton on the Moor to clear out their cupboards and donate unwanted items to three good causes.
The collection is in aid of Alnwick Lions Club which would like books, DVDs, CDs and jigsaws; Alnwick District Food Bank which needs tinned food, pasta and toiletries; and the NHS which wants hand cream, knitted ear savers and homemade scrub bags.

Hide AdThey will be in Alnwick on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25 and the other villages on Saturday, May 23.
The items will be collected from the bottom of people’s drives.
Contributors are asked to leave their donations for each cause in different bags.
They are also asked to observe social distancing guidelines.
