RESEARCH: Seeking details of a local family
I have written the biography of a man who returned safely from Dunkirk and married a local girl on Boxing Day, 1941.
He was Norman Worrall, known throughout his life simply as Plum; she was Martha Robinson.

Hide AdHer mother was Jane Wright, from Newton by the Sea. Her father seems to have been well known, Leonard Robinson, or Lenny, who worked for Charles Thomson, the coal merchant. They lived at Horsley Bungalows, Christon Bank.
It is Leonard’s other daughter I am seeking. I know that she married Sammy Laidler, but that is all I know. I would be very grateful for any information at all regarding this.
I spent a few brief hours in your area last week. I express my deeply grateful thanks to the kind lady in Embleton Garage, and to Robbie Young in Christon Bank stores, who were very patient with me.
My best wishes to you all.
