SLIDESHOW: Readers capture images of the supermoon
The clouds cleared just in time for readers to capture the biggest moon in almost 70 years last night.
And here is the result - a slideshow of beautiful pictures from different locations around north Northumberland.
As the county bathed in the glorious light of the brightest moon since January 1948, much of the rest of the country could only gaze at a cloudy sky, with the 'supermoon' hidden from view.
Yesterday's supermoon, which occurs when the Earth, sun and moon align to the moon’s orbit of Earth, was 30 per cent brighter and 14 per cent bigger than normal moons.
